JONNIE C. MABE, 69 years old of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Clinch Valley Medical Center.  Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late John and Marcella Sanders Compton.  She attended the Church of Christ, and she was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Mabe was preceded in death by her husband William W. Mabe on July 8, 1966.

She is survived by 2-Daughters:   Janie Mabe, Vansant, VA, Kathy and husband Craig Dye, Red Ash, VA, 2-Sisters: Hazel and husband Eulice White, Henderson, NC, Lois Richardson, Ocala, FL, 4-Grandchildren: Jessica and husband Ersel Diles, Anthony Adams, Justin Gentry, Michael and wife Amanda Gentry, 2-Great-Grandchildren: Chelsea Maria Brown and Dameon Michael Diles

Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mabe was preceded in death by two sisters:  Ruby Branham, Patricia Arvin, two brothers:  Floyd A. Compton, Paul Blake Compton, two grandsons:  William A. Adams, Travis Daniel Adams.

Funeral services for JONNIE C. MABE will be conducted Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Ben May officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA. 

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday afternoon after 5:00 P.M.
