JOSEPH BARNES BARNETT, 71 years of age of Paw Paw, KY passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 Bluefield Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, VA, he was the son of the late William Wallace and Oprah Mae Stiltner Barnett.  He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Mill Fork Freewill Baptist Church, Paw Paw, Kentucky.

Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Barnett – October 25, 2001.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Teresa and husband Yahia Abdelaty, Bluefield, WV, 2-Sons: Ricky and wife Annette Barnett, Paw Paw, KY, Barry Joe and wife Tammy Barnett, Matewan, WV, 1-Sister: Kathlene and husband Frank Sturgill, Florence, SC, 1-Brother: Denver and wife Juanita Barnett, Vansant, VA, 4-Grandchildren: Amanda and husband Shannon Lee, Hurley, VA, Meghan Young, Bluefield, WV, Brooklyn Barnett, Matewan, WV, Joseph Matthew Barnett, Paw Paw, KY, 3-Great Grandchildren::            Adriel Lee, Courtney Lee, and Cassandra Lee

He was preceded in death by 1-Son:  Jimmy Michael Barnett and 1-Brother: Ron Keith Barnett.

Funeral Services for JOSEPH BARNES BARNETT will be conducted Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mill Fork Freewill Baptist Church, Paw Paw, KY, with Elders Michael Casey, Willie Coleman, and Ronnie Hurley officiating with burial to follow in Hurley Family Cemetery, Upper Elk Creek near Hurley, VA.

Friends may call at the Mill Fork Freewill Baptist Church, Paw Paw, KY Sunday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Sunday and Monday evening at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
