KATHLEEN SPENCER MULKEY, 81 years of age of the Home Creek Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Harlan Health & Rehab Center, Harlan, KY, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Callie Stiltner Spencer. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Home Creek Deliverance Tabernacle. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker and friend to all who knew her. .

Mrs. Mulkey was preceded in death by her husband, Farley Mulky Jr., July 8, 1998.

She is survived by 1-Daughter: Pamela and husband Kenneth Dixon, Baxter, KY, 4-Sisters: Julia Ann Spencer, Grundy, VA, Phyllis Mulkey, Cleveland, OH, Linda Phillips, Parma, OH, Nancy Funk, Phelps, KY, 4-Brothers: Clarence and wife Mary Spencer, Grundy, VA, Robert Spencer, Grundy, VA, George and wife Lois Spencer, Grundy, VA, Melvin Spencer Jr., Grundy, VA, 1-Grandson: Nathan and wife Allyson Justus, Lebanon, VA, 1-Great-Granddaughter: Mary Margaret Justus, Lebanon, VA, 1-Step-Great-Grandson: Hunter Dixon, Baxter, KY

Also, survived by several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1-Sister: Erlene Spencer Kencke, and 3-Brothers: Alvie, Earnest and Homer Spencer.

Funeral Services for KATHLEEN SPENCER MULKEY will be conducted Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Hess and James Chapman officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Don Goble, George Spencer, Jr., Rodney Hill, Victor Justus, Robin McGlothlin, James Earl Chapman, Tony Spencer, Bobby Spencer and Terry Phillip.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Bashar Moshem, Dr. J.G. Patel and CNA Beverly Vanover.
