
KENNETH
E. FOSTER,
78 years
of age of the Poplar Creek section of Grundy, VA, went to be with the Lord,
Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Sandra Owens Home, Birchleaf, VA, following an
extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Charlie
and Lydia Margaret Stiltner Foster. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan
County and was a member of the Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church #2. Mr.
Foster served in the United States Army and was a founding member of the
Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church #2. He was a devoted husband, loving
father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a Retired Coal Miner and former
Employee of Grundy Funeral Home for 23-years.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his wife:
Verna Lou Collins Foster, May 24, 1994.
He is survived by 1-Daughter: Judy Ramey, Grundy,
VA, 1-Adopted Daughter: Judy Marie Mosley, Georgia, 1-Son: Sheriff Ray and wife
Debbie Foster, Grundy, VA, 2-Sisters: Yvonne and husband Charles Osborne,
Grundy, VA, Annette and husband Jack Duty, Grundy, VA
Also, survived by 4-Grandchildren and
1-Great-Grandson.
He was preceded in death by 3-Sisters and
3-Brothers.
Funeral Services for KENNETH E. FOSTER
will be conducted Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethlehem Old
Regular Baptist Church #2, Poplar Creek, Grundy, VA, with Elders: Toy Looney,
Howard Daniels, Roger Coleman, Jackie Yates, Mark Justice and Jimmy Dale Sanders
officiating with burial to follow in Stiltner Cemetery near Bethlehem Old
Regular Baptist Church #1 on Poplar Creek, Grundy, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home
Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M. The Body will be
moved to the Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church #2 Monday afternoon at 4:00
P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be Larry Stiltner, Pat
Stiltner, Curtis Mullins, Billy Stiltner, Gary Hughes, Daniel Stiltner, Chris
Stiltner and Billy Winchester.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Otis Deel, Bill
Shortridge, T.C. Mullins, Jr., Jessee Foster, Jack Duty, Charles Osborne, Dr.
Tedla, Special Care Hospice, Phillip & Sandy Owens and the Employees of Buchanan
County Sheriff’s Department.
Full Military Rites will be conducted at the
cemetery by Members of John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion.
