KERMIT McKINLEY STILTNER, 66 years of age of Grundy, Virginia, passed away at his home Sunday, March 6, 2011 following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Ellis and Bessie Compton Stiltner.  He was a retired Coal Miner, a Forest Warden with the Virginia Division of Forestry for over 30 years and was of the Baptist Faith. 

Mr. Stiltner is survived by two daughters: Kathy and her husband Ricky Gibson, Lexington, NC, Amy ester, Grundy, VA, Two sons: Robert and his wife Rebecca Stiltner, Gold Hill, NC, Jody and his wife Nancy Stiltner, Phelps, KY, Three sisters: Yula Mae and her husband James Cantrell, Somerset, KY, Nadine and her husband Hubert Lester, Feds Creek, KY, Trula Compton, Howard, OH

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one brother – Sidney Stiltner.

Funeral services for KERMIT McKINLEY STILTNER will be conducted Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Harman Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Shea Shrader, Rev. E. C. Honaker and Rev. Rodney King officiating with burial to follow in the J. O. Fletcher Cemetery on Looney’s Creek, near Grundy, Virginia.

Friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Harman Memorial Baptist Church with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers – Robert Stiltner, Jody Stiltner, Ricky Gibson, Brandon Stiltner, Chet Bentley, Ricky Bowman, Aaron Pugh and Bobby Gerald Ratliff.
