LAWRENCE DAVIS, 72 years old of the Stacy section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Buchanan General Hospital following a brief illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was son of the late Columbus and Ida Lester Davis and he was a Heavy Equipment Operator.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jean Baldwin Davis on October 16, 2002.

Mr. Davis is survived by his fiancé, Mary Davis, Grundy, VA, Two daughters – Cathy and her husband Curtis Jackson, Grundy, VA, Karen and her husband Mickey Horn, Vansant, VA,

One Step-daughter – Liesa and her husband James Pennington, Grundy, VA, Three sons -  Mark Davis, Welch, WV, Darryl and his wife Margaret Davis, Grundy, VA, Randy and his wife Michelle Davis, Grundy, VA, One Step-son - Jeff Keene, Boonville, NC, Two Sisters - Laura Tompkins, Miami, FL, Lois Ann and her husband Vaughn Wrightron, Baltimore, MD, Seven Brothers – Lonnie and his wife Freida Davis, Grundy, VA, Leon and his wife Opal Davis, Patterson, VA, Lacy Davis, Fawn Grove, PA, Leonard and his wife Mollie Davis, Grundy, VA, Leroy and his wife Linda Davis, North Carolina, Lowell and his wife Yukki Davis, North Carolina, Luther and his wife Ola Davis, Grundy, VA

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 Step-grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by three brothers – Leo, Jimmy and Lonzo Davis; one granddaughter – Emilee Leeanne Davis and one Daughter in Law – Niki Jo Davis.

Funeral services for LAWRENCE DAVIS will be conducted  Monday, November 1, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Crossview Church of Christ on State Line Ridge #1 with Evg. Hobert Kennedy and Evg. Bill Neeley officiating with burial to follow in the Davis Family Cemetery on Davis Ridge near Bradshaw Mountain.

Friends may call at the Crossview Church of Christ after 5:00 P.M. Sunday with services Sunday Evening at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Mark Fallen, Danny Davis, Jerome Mullins, Eugene Whited, James Pennington and Brandon Pennington.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Ramesh Kabaria, Teddy Matney, Ralph Fallen and Jay Shelton.
