LEAH BROOKE OWENS, infant daughter of Billy Joe and Amanda Brooke Hughes Owens of Grundy, VA, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Knoxville, TN, following a brief illness. Born in Bristol, TN, she was the daughter of Billy Joe and Amanda Brooke Hughes Owens of Grundy, VA.

She is survived by 1-Sister: Madelyne Owens, Poplar Creek Section of Grundy, VA, Maternal Grandparents: Gary and Pat Hughes, Homecreek Section of Grundy, VA, Paternal Grandparents: David and Becky Owens, Poplar Creek Section of Grundy, VA, Paternal Great-Grandmother: Louisa Owens, Poplar Creek Section of Grundy, VA, Maternal Great-Grandmother: Edith Horn, Hurley, VA

Also, survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by Paternal Great-Grandfather: Earl Owens; Maternal Great-Grandfather: Ernest Hughes; Paternal Great-Grandmother: Udell Darnell; Paternal Great-Grandfather: Julius Rice and Maternal Great-Grandmother: Madelyne Tackett. 

Funeral Services for LEAH BROOKE OWENS will be conducted Monday, November 3, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church, Harman, VA, with Pastors: Ronnie Sliger, Josh Bowman and Eddie Wilson officiating with burial to follow in the Owens Family Cemetery on Wood’s Fork Road, near Grundy, VA. 

Friends may call at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church, Harman, VA, Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be: David Owens, Trace Hughes, Mackie Horn, Jim Rice, Kennith Bowman and Keith Boyd.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: 3^rd Floor & Pediatric I.C.U. Staff of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Chaplain Sandy Foster, Family and Friends, Anthony Skeens, Albert Childress, Raymond Webb and Christopher Horn.
