LLOYD DAVID SEXTON, SR., 75 years of age of Oakwood, VA, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2010 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Jay and Willie Grey Sexton. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was President of Buchanan County Sportsman Club. Mr. Sexton was past president and member of Coon Hunters Federation and the Black Diamond Coon Hunters Association. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and was a self-employed Dog Food Distributor.

Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Owens Sexton, April 13, 2009.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Jama Davene McClanahan and husband Danny Lee, Oakwood, VA, 1-Son: Lloyd David Sexton Jr., Oakwood, VA, 3-Sisters: Juanita Sexton, Florida, Shirley and husband Casby Bowman, Florahome, FL, Mary Ellen and husband Jimmy Street, Lebanon, VA, 1-Brother: Roy James “Jim” Sexton, Grundy, VA

Also, survived by 4-Grandchildren: Sharon Renee Sexton, Sara Marie Sexton, Andrew Davene McClanahan and Laura Danielle McClanahan Turner.

He was preceded in death by 1-Sister: Blanche Dellinger and 4-Brothers: Joe Robert Sexton, William J. Sexton, Samuel Sexton and Elmer Eugene “John” Sexton.

Funeral Services for LLOYD DAVID SEXTON, SR., will be conducted Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Bill Boyd officiating with burial to follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Buchanan County Sportsman Club and the Black Diamond Coon Hunters Association.
