LUTHER WILLIAM STILTNER, 68 years of age of Maxie, VA, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Muncy and Matele Stump Stiltner. He was a retired coal miner from Harman Mining and a member of UMWA Local Union No. 28/7025. He loved horses and his little house dogs.

Mr. Stiltner was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Mae Stiltner, June 19, 2001.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Jeanie Stiltner, Maxie, VA, 1-Son:             Eric Shawn Stiltner, Maxie, VA, 2-Sisters: Lois Ann Owens, Vansant, VA, Linda Sue and husband Parker Owens, Keen Mt., VA

Also, survived by 1-Brother-in-Law: Sammy Pruitt, Special Friend: Larry O’Quinn, and several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by 1-Brother: Bobby Stiltner.

Funeral Services for LUTHER WILLIAM STILTNER will be conducted Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Sliger officiating with burial to follow in the Family Cemetery on Belcher’s Fork, Maxie, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Jimbo Cordle, Brian Waters, Brian Stiltner, Kennith Prater, Bob Blankenship, Todd Blankenship, Derek Bland, Samuel Pruitt and Shannon Prater.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Cook Jr., Dr. William Powers, Joey Yates, Sonny Kiser, Sammy Pruitt, Ira Lee Elkins, Henry McNutt, Shawn McNutt, Larry O’Quinn and Homer Newsome.
