
MABEL VANCE
ENDICOTT BLANKENSHIP,
86 years of
age of Hurley, VA, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Holston Valley
Medical Center, Kingsport, TN, following a brief illness. Born in McDowell
County, WV, she was the daughter of the late William and Mattie Wyatt Vance. She
was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of the Old
Regular Baptist Church for 45-years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a wonderful
homemaker.
Mrs.
Blankenship was preceded in death by her first husband: William Blaine Endicott
and her second husband: Lee Blankenship.
She is
survived by 2-Daughters: Judy Blankenship, Hurley, VA, Darlene and husband Steve
Baker, Hurley, VA, 3-Sons: Farley and wife Evelyn Endicott, Vale, NC, Roger and
wife Brenda Blankenship, Grundy, VA, Ray Blankenship, Butner, NC, 1-Sister:
Ethel Meadows, Phelps, KY, 1-Half Brother: William Vance, Swords Creek, VA
Also,
survived by 14-Grandchildren, 10-Great-Grandchildren, 1-Great-Great-Grandchild,
and several nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by 1-Daughter: Ruby Rife; 3-Grandchildren; 6-Sisters: Flora
Kennedy, Nancy Cantrell, Alice Dotson, Cosby Lester, Ruby Woods and Macie
Bailey; 4-Brothers: Stuart Vance, Marvin Vance, Earl Vance and Lonnie Vance.
Funeral
Services for MABLE VANCE ENDICOTT BLANKENSHIP will be conducted Friday,
April 2, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Dennis
Wimmer officiating with burial to follow in Mary Lou Cemetery on State Line
Ridge #1, Paynesville, WV.
Friends may
call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with
services at 7:30 P.M. conducted by Evg. Dennis Wimmer and services Thursday
evening at 7:00 P.M. conducted by Elders: Roger Coleman and Jerry Overstreet.
