MABLE MEADE HURLEY, 83 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Ashville, NC. Born in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late David Washington “Pink” and Mellie Justice Meade. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of the Little Prater Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by her husband: Jack Hurley, November 19, 1978.

She is survived by 2-Daughters: Sharon K. Hurley, Spruce Pine, NC, Barbara Stiltner, Ashville, NC, 1-Sister: Pebble Meade, Phyllis, KY, 1-Brother: David J. Meade, Phyllis, KY, 2-Grandsons: Robbie and wife Janet Stiltner, Ashville, NC, Chris and wife Misty Stiltner, Franklin, NC

Also, survived by 3-Great-Grandchildren: Cody, Erika and Corey Stiltner.

She was preceded in death by 7-Brothers and Sisters.

Funeral Services for MABLE MEADE HURLEY will be conducted Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Dennis Wimmer officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews.
