MADELINE JACKSON HURLEY, 85 years of age of Hurley, VA, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Myrtie Hurley Jackson. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by her husband: Waymen E. Hurley, January 26, 1993.

She is survived by 8-Daughters: Phyllis Quillen, Bear, DE, Jewell Dotson, Hurley, VA, Betty Dotson, Paw Paw, KY, Brookie and husband Paul Estep, Hurley, VA, Ruby Justus, Ruckersville, VA, Sharon and husband Jerry Dotson, Paw Paw, KY, Linda and husband Bradley McClanahan, Hurley, VA, Shelby and husband Mike Smith, Maysville, KY, 5-Sons: Ervin and wife Bonnie Hurley, Hurley, VA, James Hurley, Hurley, VA, Cecil Hurley, Hurley, VA, Daniel and wife Sandy Hurley, Hurley, VA, Dennis and wife Wanda Hurley, Hurley, VA, 2-Sisters: Edith and husband Johnny Jackson, Hurley, VA, Nora Jackson, Hurley, VA, 5-Brothers: Britt and wife Trixie Jackson, Hurley, VA, Bobby and wife Nuval Jackson, Hurley, VA, Carrol Jackson, Michigan, Harold and wife Anna Rae Jackson, Hurley, VA, Ulvert Jackson, Michigan

Also, survived by 48-Grandchildren and 67-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 1-Son, 1-Sister, 2-Brothers and 1-Grandson.

Funeral Services for MADELINE JACKSON HURLEY will be conducted Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kelsa Freewill Baptist Church with Preachers: Ervin Hurley, Ronnie Hurley, Mike Casey and Others officiating with burial to follow in the Family Cemetery on Abner’s Fork, near Hurley, VA.

Friends may call at the Kelsa Freewill Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. with services Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
