
MARTHA “SUSIE” WYATT FIELDS,
66 years of age,
of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Wellmont’s Hospice House,
Bristol, TN following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Grundy,
VA, and she was the daughter of the late Robert Fred and Hazel Morgan Wyatt.
She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church, a member of the Daughter’s of
the American Revolution – Levisa River Chapter where she served as Corresponding
Secretary, a member of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century –
Wilderness Trail Chapter, and a member of the United Daughter’s of the
Confederacy – Salyer Lee Chapter. Susie attended Radford University, Bluefield
College, and graduated from Pikeville College. She taught 33 years before
retiring from Buchanan County Public Schools. She was a devoted wife and a
loving mother.
Mrs. Fields is survived by
her husband: Herbert Fields of Grundy, VA, 1-Son: Brian and wife Angel Fields,
Grundy, VA, 1-Brother: Robert “Bob” and wife Angie Wyatt, Vansant. VA,
2-Nephews: Brad and wife Teresa Wyatt, Roanoke, VA, Todd and wife Angie Vandyke,
Columbia, SC, 1-Niece: Teresa Coleman, Vansant, VA
She is also survived by a
host of great nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Services
for MARTHA “SUSIE” WYATT FIELDS will be conducted Tuesday, August 12,
2008, at 11:00 A.M. at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA with Evg.
Bill Neeley officiating with burial to follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens,
Claypool, Hill, VA.
Friends may call at the New
Hope Christian Church, Slate Creek, Grundy, VA Monday afternoon at 5:00 P.M.
with a Song Service at 7:00 P.M.
