MARY MARINDA JUSTUS BLANKENSHIP, 70 years of age of Hurley, VA, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Mary Lester Justus. She was a life-long resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Church of God in Jesus Name.  She was a former employee of Eastern Isles sewing factory for 13 years, and a former employee of Hilton’s Grocery, and a homemaker.  She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother.   

Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her husband:  James C. Blankenship on September 17, 1997.

She is survived by:  1-Daughter: Patsy and husband Donnie Stevens, Hurley, VA;   3-Sisters: Dottie Wolford, Hurley, VA, Marie Smith, Hurley, VA, Ora Hilton, Hurley, VA;         2-Brothers: Dan Justus, Hurley, VA, Harold Justus; Hurley, VA; 1-Grandson: Richard Crumb, Hurley, VA. 

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by:  1-Daughter:  Kathy Jo Blankenship on November 10, 2001;  1-Sister:  Dora Blankenship;  5-Brothers:  Earl, Ed, Billy, Bobby, and Jack Justus.

Funeral Services for MARY MARINDA JUSTUS BLANKENSHIP will be conducted Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Curtis Stacy officiating with burial to follow in the J. C. Lester Cemetery on Pounding Mill near Hurley.   

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. and Monday at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
