MARY RUTH ESTEP CONN, 80 years of age of the Hurley, VA passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late James Harvey and Stella Lester Estep.  She was a life-long resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Church of God in Jesus’ Name.  She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.   

She is survived by her husband of 64 years:  Joe Junior Conn of Hurley, VA;  1-Daughter: Betty and husband Jimmy Baker, Hurley, VA; 3-Sons:       Harold and wife Shirley Conn, Hurley, VA, Billy Ray and wife Debbie Conn, Hurley, VA, Rev. Tommy and wife Pam Conn, Paw Paw, KY; 1-Daughter-in-Law:  Cora Conn, Hurley, VA; 3-Sisters: Blanche Blair, Morristown, TN, Phyllis and husband Coy Stacy, Hurley, VA, Dorothy Allen, Hurley, VA; 3-Brothers: Vernon and wife Madge Estep, Hurley, VA, Carl Estep, Hurley, VA, Andrew and wife Birdie Estep, Hurley, VA. Also survived by 8-Grandchildren:  Joe Conn, Amanda Dotson, Ricky Baker, Johnny Baker, Bobby Conn, Elizabeth Conn, Jeff Hardin, and Rebecca Brown.  Also survived by 7-Great-Grandchildren:  Hunter Baker, Chase Baker, Gabriel Dotson, Tristin Conn, Tyler Conn, Kyra Conn, Hannah, and Brandon Cochran. 

She was preceded in death by: 1-Son:  Jerry Paul Conn; 1-Sister: Delphia Robinson, 1-Granddaughter: Sherry Lynn Conn, and 1-Great Grandson:  Adam Ramey.

Funeral Services for MARY RUTH ESTEP CONN will be conducted Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of God in Jesus’ Name on Guesses Fork near Hurley, VA, with Revs. Bobby Conn, Larry Rife, Joe Conn, and Hufford Rife officiating with burial to follow in the Conn Cemetery on Mill Creek near Hurley, VA.   

Friends may call at the Church of God in Jesus’ Name on Guesses Fork near Hurley, VA  on Sunday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Sunday and Monday evening at 7:00 PM.

Active Pallbearers will be:  Joe Conn, Bobby Conn, Ricky Baker, Johnny Baker, Jeff Hardin, Jackie Lee Dotson, Cody Estep, and Mark Blackburn.
