MATTHEW ALLEN HOLMAN, 31 years of age of Taylorsville, NC, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Michael Lee and Wanda June Clevinger Holman, Grundy, VA. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life prior to moving to North Carolina and attended the Millersville Baptist Church, Taylorsville, NC. He was a graduate of Grundy Senior High and Printing Machine Operator for Rock Tenn Manufacturing Company.

Mr. Holman is survived by his wife: Johnna Christina Wooten Holman, Taylorsville, NC, His parents: Michael Lee and Wanda June Clevinger Holman, Grundy, VA, 2-Brothers: Michael Adrian Holman, Grundy, VA, James Kevin and wife Michelle Holman, Taylorsville, NC, 3-Nieces: Brittany Holman, Tiffany Holman and Christine Holman, Paternal Grandmother: Martha Mae Holman, West Jefferson, NC

He was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents: Clarence and Ethel Clevinger and Paternal Grandfather: Freeman Holman.

Funeral Services for MATTHEW ALLEN HOLMAN will be conducted Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders: Ralph Mullins, Rickey Mullins and Roger Coleman officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

A Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Clairmont, NC.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Bradley Looney, John McClanahan, Shane Shelton, Danny Bennett, Kyle Holman and Robert Holman.
