MATTHEW JOHN JACKSON, 27 years of age of Mavisdale, VA, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon, VA, following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Earl Willie Jackson, Mavisdale, VA, and Margie Marie Minor Jackson, Indiana. He has been a resident of Buchanan County his whole life. He was a member of Ratliff Chapel Church. Mr. Jackson was an employee of Noah Horn Well Drilling Company for the passed several months.

Mr. Jackson is survived by 1-Son: Matthew John Jackson II, Mavisdale, VA, Step-Mother: Colleen Jackson, Mavisdale, VA, 3-Half-Sisters: Charlotte Endicott, North Carolina, Shirley Endicott, North Carolina, Tasha Endicott, Michigan, 1-Step-Sister: Courtney Coleman, Mavisdale, VA, 3-Half-Brothers: Michael Endicott, North Carolina, Brian Jackson, Indiana, Bobby Jackson, Indiana, 2-Step-Brothers: Richard Jenkins, Mavisdale, VA, Nicholas Jenkins, Mavisdale, VA

Also, survived by 2-Nephews: Jacob Wayne Jackson and Alex Cline and 3-Nieces: Leah Elizabeth Jackson, Shaylynn Coleman and Mercedes Coleman.

He was preceded in death by 1-Brother: Earl Wayne Jackson.

Funeral Services for MATTHEW JOHN JACKSON will be conducted Friday, June 20, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Colley officiating with burial to follow at the Fanning Boyd Cemetery on Big Fox, near Leemaster, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be: Gary Jackson, Sherman Jackson, Jr., Marshall Jackson, Terry Coleman, Clyde Jones, Tommy Soviact, Shannon Dotson and Allen Keen.
