MICHAEL EDWARD FLETCHER, 48 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Patty Whitt Fletcher, Grundy, VA, and the late Earnest Edward Fletcher, April 26, 2008. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Protestant Faith. Mr. Fletcher graduated from Grundy High School in 1980, attended Southwest Virginia Community College, member of Sandy Valley Lodge #17 AF&AM and was a former employee of Nichols Construction Company.

Mr. Fletcher is survived by his mother: Patty Whitt Fletcher, Grundy, VA, 1-Daughter: Mycah Celeste Fletcher, Grundy, VA, 1-Sister: Dia Patrice St. Clair, Bristol, TN

Also, survived by 2-Nieces: Emily Layne and Madison Parson, 1-Nephew: Brett St. Clair, and 1-Great-Niece: Megan Layne.

He was preceded in death by 1-Brother: Earnest Edward Fletcher, Jr., Paternal Grandparents: Ishmael and Pearl Fletcher and Maternal Grandparents: Ertel and Elmo Whitt.

Funeral Services for MICHAEL EDWARD FLETCHER will be conducted Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife and Evg. William L. Neeley officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with Masonic Rites at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Brett St. Clair, Tim Nichols, Dusty Mullins, Hershel Burks, T.C. Nichols, David England, Randy Vandyke, Mark Lipps and Mark Mutter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Mullins, J.J. Mullins, Andrew Mullins, Stan Thornsbury, Timmy Lee and Lyle Mutter.
