NELLIE JUSTUS, 95 years of age of Hurley, VA, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 1, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Smith Justus. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, a wonderful homemaker and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Justus was preceded in death by her husband: Wallace Justus.

She leaves to cherish her memory 4-Daughters: Mary and husband Clyde E. Matney, Augusta, GA, Sue and husband Eli Blankenship Jr., Abingdon, VA, Patsy and husband Lonnie Ervin Stacy, Hurley, VA, Lou Ellen Justus, Hurley, VA, 3-Sons: Roger and wife Phyllis Justus, Bradshaw, VA, Joe and wife Betty Justus, Hurley, VA, David “Dickie” and wife Helen Justus, Hurley, VA, 1-Daughter-in-Law: Evelyn Justus, Grundy, VA

Also, survived by 14-Grandchildren, 16-Great-Grandchildren, 2-Great-Great-Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1-Son: Steve Justus, July 22, 2006; 6-Sisters: Mae Butcher, Sarah Jane Rash, Maude Justus, Pearl Hickey, Lizzie Rowe and Daisey Marrs; and 2-Brothers: Paris Justus and Cleveland Justus.

Funeral Services for NELLIE JUSTUS will be conducted Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Davis and Rev. David Cline officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
