OPAL C. McCLANAHAN SLONE,
72 years of age
of Hurley, VA, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Buchanan General
Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the
daughter of the late Garfield and Dorothy Scarberry McClanahan. She was a
lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Kelsa Freewill Baptist
Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
and was a wonderful homemaker.
Mrs. Slone was preceded in
death by her husband Bobby R. Slone.
She is survived by

She was preceded in death by
1-Sister: Hettie Ann McClanahan and 3-Brothers: Eddie, Laurence and Kenny Lee
McClanahan.
Funeral Services for OPAL
C. McCLANAHAN SLONE will be conducted Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 1:00 P.M.
at the Kelsa Freewill Baptist Church with Elders: Ronnie Hurley, Kenny Jackson
and Ervin Hurley officiating with burial to follow in the Slone Family Cemetery
on Puncheon Camp Road, near Hurley, VA.
Friends may call at the
Kelsa Freewill Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Friday
and Saturday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
