ORA LOONEY RAMEY, 90 years of age of Big Rock, VA, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Parkis and Sylvia Hackney Looney. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church for 62-years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Ramey was preceded in death by her husband: Obra Lee Ramey, March 30, 1983.

She is survived by 2-Daughters: Loretta Shue, Alexandria, VA, Annalene Ramey, Abingdon, VA, 4-Sons: Houston and wife Helen Ramey, Big Rock, VA, Leon Ramey, Big Rock, VA, Claude and wife Betty Ramey, Abingdon, VA, Gilbert Ramey, Manassas, VA, 5-Sisters: Pauline Stiltner, Conaway, VA, Emogene and husband Herb Clevinger, Grundy, VA, Mary Ruth Viers, Prater, VA, Violet and husband Amel Clevinger, Prater, VA, Juanita and husband Ernie Clevinger, Rocky Gap, VA, 3-Brothers: Ray and wife Susie Looney, Conaway, VA, Ben and wife Helen Looney, Mouth Card, KY, Curtis and wife Murkie Looney, Rocky Gap, VA

Also, survived by 10-Grandchildren, 9-Great-Grandchildren, 1-Great-Great-Grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1-Grandson: Christopher Houston Ramey; 1-Great-Grandson: Nathneil Dylan Taylor; 2-Brothers: George (Buster) Looney and Virgil Looney; and 1-Son-in-Law: Clayton Shue.

Funeral Services for ORA LOONEY RAMEY will be conducted Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church, Harman, VA, with Elders: Toy Looney, Larry Puckett, Earl Dean Yates, Roger Coleman and Howard Daniels officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M. and at the Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church, Harman, VA, Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Timothy Ramey, Joe Ramey, Greg Vanover, Matthew Shue, Bradford Shue, Mike Harrison, Tommy Thacker and James Looney.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. D. Patel, Dr. H. Patel and Dr. J.G. Patel.
