ORA MAE RAMEY BELCHER,
90 years of
age of the Lee Town Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at
the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan
County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Wyatt and Lucy Angeline
Stiltner Ramey. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member
of Grundy Church of God. Mrs. Belcher loved going to church, cooking and was an
avid quilt maker. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and was a
wonderful homemaker.
Mrs. Belcher was
preceded in death by her husband: Bart Belcher, November 7, 2004.
She is survived by
1-Daughter: Juanita Webb, Grundy, VA, 3-Brothers: Ervin and wife Nancy Ramey,
Grundy, VA, James G. and wife Bonnie Ramey, La Fontaine, IN, Bill and wife Betty
Ramey, Abingdon, VA, 1-Grandson: Steven and wife Tammy Webb, Johnson City, TN
Also, survived by
Special Friends and Caregivers: Linda V., Miley, Sue, Linda B., Regina and Pam.
She was preceded in
death by 1-Son: Tildon G. Belcher, December 4, 1968, 1-Sister: Ocie Stiltner,
5-Brothers: Harlis, Lawson, Dempsey, Otis and Clinton Ramey, and 1-Son-in-Law:
Eugene Webb.
Funeral Services for
ORA MAE RAMEY BELCHER will be conducted Friday, April 3, 2009 at 1:00 P.M.
at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Elkins officiating with
burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the
Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services
Wednesday Evening at 7:00 P.M. Services Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
will be conducted by Ronnie Sliger.
Active Pallbearers will
be George E. Kinder, Michael Charles, Steven Webb, Waylon Elswick, James Paul
Ratliff and Charlie Looney.
Honorary Pallbearers
