PATSY ANN DALES HORTON, 67 years of age of Bristol, TN, formerly of Buchanan County, entered into heaven Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Anderson and Mildred Dora Dales. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life prior to moving to Bristol, TN, and was a member of Harman Memorial Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and was employed by the University of Maryland for 36-years as an Administrative Assistant.

Mrs. Horton is survived by her husband of 47-years, Luther Thomas Horton, Bristol, TN, 1-Son: Michael Horton, Bristol, TN, 3-Sisters: Shirley Sue Dales and husband David Fritts, Strasburg, VA, Phyllis Jean Dales and husband Henry Davis, Chesterfield, VA, Linda Gay Dales Belcher, Grundy, VA, Mother-in-Law: Gladys Lou Horton, Raven, VA

Also, survived by 1-Special Niece: Melanie Belcher Bennett; 3-Nieces: Donna Fritts Short, Susan Fritts Jewell and Karen Davis; 2-Nephews: John Belcher Jr. and Jarrett Belcher; 7-Great-Nephews: Jason Mullins, David Short, Rusty Jewell, Michael McNeal, Matthew Bennett, Jonathan Belcher and Jacob Belcher; 1-Sister-in-Law: Betty Horton Shelton; and 2-Brothers-in-Law: Danny Horton and Jeff Horton.

She was preceded in death by 1-Brother: Raymond Keith Dales, 1-Brother-in-Law: Johnny Belcher, Maternal Grandparents: Benjamin Caudill Dales and Hattie Hurley Dales Ashby and Paternal Grandparents: Grover Cleveland and Statsie Bell Deel Dales.

Funeral Services for PATSY ANN DALES HORTON will be conducted Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Fritts, Rev. Ronnie Sliger, Rev. Eddie Wilson, Josh Bowman and Rev. Danny Hess officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be her nephews, John Belcher, Jr., and Jarrett Belcher; her cousins, Grover Dales, Iven Dales, Jason Dales, Bobby O’Quinn, Paul O’Quinn, David O’Quinn and Eugene Whited; and her friends, J.D. Sliger and John Whited.
