PATTY MAZIE BLANKENSHIP DOTSON, 42 years of age of Duffield, VA, formerly of Hurley, VA, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Wellmont-Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap, VA, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of James Blankenship, Grundy, VA, and the late Patty Blankenship. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life, prior to moving to Duffield, VA. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Dotson is survived by her husband: Mark Dotson, Hurley, VA, her father: James Blankenship, Grundy, VA, 2-Daughters: Cheryl Dotson, Rural Retreat, VA, Louann Dotson, Grundy, VA, 1-Sister: Ann Vanzant, Clarksville, TN

She was preceded in death by 1-Son: Mark “Boomer” Dotson II, 1-Sister: Georgia Blankenship and 1-Nephew: Braxton Justus.

Funeral Services for PATTY MAZIE BLANKENSHIP DOTSON will be conducted Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Chapman officiating with burial to follow in the Blankenship, Dotson & Justus Cemetery on Lester’s Fork, Hurley, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
