PAUL JOSEPH PENNINGTON, 42 years of age, of the Slate Creek Area of Grundy, VA passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN following a short illness.  Born in Massachusetts, he was a son of Lenora Keen Pennington Marcus, Welch, WV and the late Paul Pennington.  He had been a resident of Buchanan County several years, was of the Holiness Church Faith, and a member of the Free Masons.   He was an employee of Matney Construction

Company as a heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife: Vanessa Lynn Smith Pennington of Grundy, VA, 2-Daughters: Tabiatha and Husband: Travis Hawthorne, Grundy, VA, Jasmine Danielle Pennington, Grundy, VA, 1-Son: Stephen Lee Pennington, Grundy, VA, 2-Brothers: James Dewey and Wife: Leisa Pennington, Grundy, VA, Donald Andrew Pennington, Welch, WV, 1-Grand-Daughter: Trinity Rayne Hawthorne, Grundy, VA

Also, survived by 3-Nephews and 5-Nieces

He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents: Dewey and Jennie Keen, Paternal Grandparents: James and Virginia Pennington

Funeral Services or PAUL JOSEPH PENNINGTON will be conducted Friday, November 14, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Crossview Church of Christ near Paynesville, WV with Evg. Hobert Kennedy and Ministers:  Jeff Mullins, Doug Blankenship and Dean Powers officiating with burial to follow in the Lester Cemetery on State line #1 near Paynesville, WV

Friends may call at the Crossview Church of Christ Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with Services Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be: Chris Vandyke, Chad Casey, Ben Bailey, Michael J. Price, Dave Stiltner, Daniel Keen, Jason Keen, David Estep, Darrell Davis, Justin Keen, Joey Davis, Denny Keen Jr., Junior Marshall, Charles Stewart and Christopher Coleman.
