PHILLIP NOIL SMITH, 58 years of age of Big Rock, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, VA, following an extended illness. Born February 23, 1951, at Big Rock, VA, he was the son of the late Harlin Willard Sr. and Cynthia Lee Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Christian Faith. Phillip Noil Smith was physically incapacitated, but in spite of his limitations, he loved life, enjoyed music, T.V., listening to radio and especially loved his power wheel chair which gave him such freedom of movement.

Mr. Smith is survived by 2-Sisters: Delores Cole, Big Rock, VA, Ermalee Smith, Big Rock, VA, 1-Brother: Harlin Willard Smith, Jr., Yorktown, VA

He was preceded in death by 1-Sister-in-Law: Elizabeth A. Smith and 1-Brother-in-Law: Norman O. Cole.

Funeral Services for PHILLIP NOIL SMITH will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Raffael Farrow officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
