RANDALL “SARG” SARGENT, 51 years of age of Hurley, VA passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY following a brief illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Nancy Mitchum Sargent of Hurley, VA and the late Turner Sargent.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, loving son and brother, and loved hunting and fishing.  He was employed by A. L. Griffith Trucking as a truck driver.  He was a member of the Mill Fork Freewill Baptist Church.

Mr. Sargent is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Remona Dotson Sargent, Hurley, VA; his mother Nancy Mitchum Sargent, Hurley, VA.  Also survived by: 3-Sons: Andrew Dean and wife Angie  Sargent,   Grundy, VA, Ryan Heath Sargent and girlfriend Tiffany Blankenship, Hurley, VA, Jeremy “Baby” Randall Sargent, Hurley, VA; 1-Brother: Bobby Lee Sargent and girlfriend Mary Belcher, Hurley, VA; 4-Sisters: Shelby Jean and husband Randall Joe Dotson, Paw Paw, KY, Sybil Gail and husband Douglas Lester, Hurley, VA, Patricia Ann and husband David Leon Dotson, Paw Paw, KY, Melissa and husband Mike Hurley, Hurley, VA; Mother-in-Law: Betty Lou Dotson, Paw Paw, KY. Also, survived by several Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father-in-Law:  James Estil Dotson.

Funeral services for RANDALL “SARG” SARGENT will be conducted Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mill Fork Freewill Baptist Church at Paw Paw, KY with Ministers Michael Casey, Jimmy Kerr, and Kenny Jackson officiating with burial to follow in the Dotson Cemetery at Paw Paw, KY. 

The body of Mr. Sargent will be moved to the Mill Fork Freewill Baptist Church at Paw Paw, KY at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday with services at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Doctors and Staff of Pikeville Medical Center.
