ROLIN EDWARD RIFE,
82 years of age of Hansonville, VA, formerly of Buchanan County passed away
Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Altamont Nursing Home, Hansonville, VA following
an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Oscar
and Wyrena Rife Rife. He was a resident of Buchanan County for most of his life
and was a retired Coal Miner and a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Rife was a
Veteran of the U. S. Army serving for 12 years.
Mr. Rife was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Foster Rife on June 3, 2003.
He is survived by: 3-Sisters: Mildred Rife Childress, Cedar Bluff, VA, Alice
Rife Logan, Canton, OH, Goldie Rife and husband Kermit Stiltner, Pennington Gap,
VA; 1-Brother: Robert Rife, Chelais, WA.
Also preceded in death by 2-Sisters: Margie Burkes and Mabel Baldwin; 1-Brother:
Carl Rife.
Funeral services for ROLIN EDWARD RIFE will be conducted Monday, January
10, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife
officiating with burial to follow in the Burl Rife Cemetery on Slate Creek,
Grundy, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel after 6:00 P.M. Sunday with
services to be held at 7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be David Stiltner, Robert Stiltner, Stephen Stiltner,
Jay Rife, Gene Rife, and Jack Rife.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Lonzo Rife.
Full Military Rites will be conducted by Members of Child’s Gentry Post No. 7360
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
