RONALD LYLE “CANDY MAN” COX, 69 years of age of Grundy, VA, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 7, 2010 following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Roy and Uransa Stiltner Cox. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Harman Freewill Baptist Church. Ronald was a 1959 Graduate of Grundy High School. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was an employee of Harman Mining Company for 39-Years.

Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Sherry Lynn Cox, Grundy, VA, 2-Daughters: Karen Lynn Cox, Florida, Rhonda Leigh Cox Ashcroft, Florida, 3-Sons: Ronald James and wife Melena Cox, Grundy, VA, Terry Ray Cox, Grundy, VA, Steven Lyle and wife Kristen Cox, Blacksburg, VA, 2-Step-Children: Melissa and husband Billy Brewster, Tazewell, VA, Larry Blankenship, Lexington, NC, 1-Sister: Donna Looney, Grundy, VA, 3-Brothers: Danny Cox, Grundy, VA, Larry and wife Rhonda Cox, Vansant, VA, Dale Cox, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by 6-Grandchildren, 3-Step-Grandchildren, 3-Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by First Wife: Shirley Kinder Cox, Second Wife: Juanita McClanahan Cox, and 1-Sister: Deanna Kay Looney.

Funeral Services for RONALD LYLE “CANDY MAN” COX will be conducted Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church, Harman, VA, with Pastors: Ronnie Sliger, Eddie Wilson and Josh Bowman officiating with burial to follow at the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Thursday and Friday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Ervin Bias, Buddy Coleman, Bobby Dingus, Johnny Bugby, Ricky Layfield, Kenny Bowman, Shane Charles and Billy Owens.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Buster Stiltner, David Owens, James Paul Ratliff, Benny Charles and Mark Coleman.
