ROSIE DEEL YATES, 88 years of age of the Sunset Hollow Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Sidney Coleman Deel. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Coleman United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a Cook for the Buchanan County School System.

Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Yates, March 1945.

She is survived by 2-Daughters: Ruby and husband Jackie Rowe, Greensboro, NC, Truby and husband Ronnie Dales, Prater, VA, 1-Son: Vern and wife Wanda Yates, Vansant, VA, 1-Sister: Flornie Charles, Prater, VA, 1-Brother: Jimmie and wife Rachel Deel, Roanoke, VA

Also, survived by 7-Grandchildren: Anthony Yates, Tammy Mitchem, Jackie Yates, Christopher Dales, Joshua Dales, Jason Mitchell and Jason Rowe; 15-Great-Grandchildren; 4-Great-Great-Grandchildren; and several Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

She was preceded in death by 2-Sons: Roy Lee Yates and Harl Dene Yates; 1-Brother: Ellis Deel; 4-Sisters: Vertie Deel, Icie Deel, Tennessee Dales and Emily Deel.

Funeral Services for ROSIE DEEL YATES will be conducted Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Coleman United Methodist Church with Pastor Darrell Thacker and Preacher Earl Dean Yates officiating with burial to follow in the Bart Yates and Parrot Deel Cemetery on the Right Fork of Greenbrier, near Prater, VA.

Friends may call at the Coleman United Methodist Church Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
