ROY JUSTUS, 77 years of age of Hurley, VA, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Miles and Canzatie Murphy Justus. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and a member of Word Evangelistic Outreach Church. Roy served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired Coal Miner.

Mr. Justus was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Alice Looney Justus, February 1, 1985, and his second wife, Phyllis Matney Justus, March 2, 2006.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Melissa Ann and husband Mike Blankenship, Hurley, VA, 3-Sons: Roy Russell Justus, Christiansburg, VA, Victor Daryl Justus, Grundy, VA, Neil Brice Justus, Christiansburg, VA, 3-Sisters: Sylvia Blankenship, Hurley, VA, Minnie Sue and husband Harry Lester, Brownstown, MI, Helen Blanche Dotson, Sweet Home, OR, 2-Brothers: George and wife Dottie Justus, Hurley, VA, Randy Justus, Taylor, MI

Also, survived 4-Grandchildren – Nathan Justus, Samantha Mounts Blankenship, Madison Justus and McKenzie Blankenship  and 2-Great-Grandchildren – Christopher Blankenship and Matthew Blankenship.

He was preceded in death by 1-Daughter: Angela Michelle Mounts; 1-Sister: Virginia Dotson and 2-Brothers: Lee and Clarence Justus.

Funeral Services for ROY JUSTUS will be conducted Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Davis officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
