RUBY JEAN DAWSON CHURCH, 86 years of age of Wytheville, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Elijah and Lillie Anne Dales Capino Dawson. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life prior to moving to Wytheville, VA, and was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Church is survived by her husband of 53-years: Willie Church, Wytheville, VA, 3-Daughters: Willie Jean and husband Donald Quinley, Vansant, VA, Alisha Alana and husband Don Church, Wytheville, VA, Jennifer and husband Cecil Deel Jr., Rural Retreat, VA, 3-Sons: Tony Blankenship, McCool, MS, Shack Dennis Blankenship, Grundy, VA, Bill Jr. and wife Sandra Church, Rural Retreat, VA

Also, survived by 21-Grandchildren, 36-Great-Grandchildren and 1-Great-Great-Grandchild.

She was preceded in death by 2-Daughters: Michelle Leto Blankenship and Mary Ann Moore; 2-Sons: Elliott Eugene Blankenship and Hassell Blankenship Jr.; 1-Sister: Lizzie Whitt; 1-Brother: Carl Dawson and 8-Half-Brothers and Sisters.

Funeral Services for RUBY JEAN DAWSON CHURCH will be conducted Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers:  Ancil Childress, Tommy Deel, Jeff Matney, Johnny Scott, Danny Short, Danny Hess and Eddie Street officiating with burial to follow in the Church Family Cemetery on Stiltner’s Branch, near Vansant, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 P.M.
