RUTHIE MAE DEEL COLEMAN, 48 years of age of the Homecreek Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of Lura Snell Deel, Blairsville, GA, and the late Willie Deel. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a wonderful Homemaker.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by her mother: Lura Snell Deel, Blairsville, GA, her fiancé: Phillip McCoy, Grundy, VA, 2-Daughters: Felicia Dawn and husband Perry Coleman, Blue Ridge, GA, Lisa Marie and husband Bryan Hockman, Blairsville, GA, 6-Sisters: Brenda Blankenship and fiancé Larry Layne, Rt. 1, Grundy, VA, Shirley Deel and fiancé Nathan Tweed, Grundy, VA, Sandra and husband Joey Farmer, Grundy, VA, Rosetta Ratliff and fiancé Mickey Justice, Hurley, VA, Patricia Vandyke, Grundy, VA, Mildred and husband Bobby Keene, Turtletown, TN, 2-Brothers: Eddie and wife Gladys Snell, Grundy, VA, William Deel and fiancé Angela Parks, Blairsville, GA

Also, survived by 6-Grandchildren: Bryan Hockman, Jr., Samuel P. Coleman, Austin James Hockman, Emaleigh Coleman, Amber Nicole Hockman and Jacob Mark Hockman.

She was preceded death by 1-Son: Bobby Eugene Coleman, 1-Brother: Ernest James Deel, 2-Grandchildren: Hanna Marie Coleman and Bobby Nathaniel Coleman and 1-Brother-in-Law: Ricky Edward Vandyke.

Funeral Services for RUTHIE MAE DEEL COLEMAN will be conducted Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jerry Counts and Ronald Lee Lester officiating with burial to follow in the Stiltner Cemetery near the church on Poplar Creek, Grundy, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Ratliff, Nathan Tweed, David Lester, Ray Hurley, Scotty Matney, Daniel Akers, Joe Farmer, Jimmy Blankenship, Keith Estep and Chad Coleman.
