SANDRA LYNN LESTER VANDYKE, 50 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following a brief illness. Born in Tazewell County, VA, she was the daughter of Juanita Mullins Lester, Abingdon, VA, and the late Mack Lester. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and attended the Harman Memorial Baptist Church. Sandra was a graduate of Grundy High School and attended the University of Virginia at Wise. She was a loving mother, sister and daughter and was Vice President of Loan Review for Grundy National Bank where she worked for 31-years.

Ms. Vandyke is survived by her mother, Juanita Mullins Lester, Abingdon, VA, 1-Daughter:  Kelley and husband Ryan Day, Christiansburg, VA, 1-Son: Kevin Vandyke, Grundy, VA, 3-Brothers: Jimmy and wife Missy Lester, Pikeville, KY, Larry and wife Arlene Lester, Staunton, VA, John and wife Lisa Lester, Abingdon, VA

Also, survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Lester.

Funeral Services for SANDRA LYNN LESTER VANDYKE will be conducted Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Vansant Baptist Church, Vansant, VA, with Pastor Shea Shrader and Evg. Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Vansant Baptist Church Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with visitation 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Kevin Vandyke, Jimmy Lester, Johnny Lester, Larry Lester, Matthew Lester, Travis Stiltner, Ryan Day and John Lark.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of Grundy National Bank.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Jeremy’s Cruisers Relay for Life Team, 1035 Bandit Road, Grundy, VA  24614.
