SHARON (FON) OWENS SEXTON, 70 years of age of Oakwood, VA, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Bristol Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Donald Douglas and Nora Belle Rasnick Owens. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life, a member of the Garden Creek Church of Christ and was a 1958 graduate of Garden High School. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a former Factory Worker at Eastern Isles. 

Mrs. Sexton is survived by her husband of 51-years: Lloyd David Sexton, Oakwood, VA, 1-Daughter: Jama Davene and husband Danny Lee McClanahan, Raven, VA, 1-Son: Lloyd David Sexton Jr., Oakwood, VA, 1-Sister: Pearly Viola Ramsey, Rosedale, VA, 1-Brother: Fred Wilkie Owens, Oakwood, VA

Also, survived by 4-Granddaughters: Sharon Sexton, Sarah Sexton, Laura McClanahan, Andrea McClanahan and 2-Great-Granddaughters: Keisha McClanahan and Aleyah McClanahan.

She was preceded in death by 1-Infant Brother.

Funeral Services for SHARON (FON) OWENS SEXTON will be conducted Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Garden Creek Church of Christ, Oakwood, VA, with Evgs. Bill Boyd and Wayne Cline officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Jim Osborne, Lewis Addison, Junior Blankenship, Joey Boyd, Mike (Plug) Sykes and Elmer Bowman.
