STELLA MAE MOUNTS
BLANKENSHIP,
82 years of age of Hurley, VA, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at the
Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan
County, she was the daughter of the late Alex Bud and Sarah Etta Rife Mounts.
She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Little
Dove Old Regular Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.
Mrs. Blankenship was
preceded in death by her husband: Fred Joseph Blankenship, February 11, 2004.
She is survived by
2-Daughters: Goldie and husband William Justice, Hurley, VA, Brenda and husband
Bobby Musick, Abingdon, VA, 1-Son: Junior and wife Liz Blankenship, Abingdon,
VA, 1-Sister: Winnie and husband Earl Justus, Hurley, VA
Also, survived by
12-Grandchildren and 32-Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by 2-Sisters: Zella Justus and Tilda Mounts; 4-Brothers: Lemon, Herbert,
Julius and Leonard Blankenship; 1-Grandson and 1-Great-Granddaughter.
Funeral Services for
STELLA MAE MOUNTS BLANKENSHIP will be conducted Monday, January 26, 2009 at
1:00 P.M. at the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church on Guesses Fork, near
Hurley, VA, with Elders: Danny Hurley, Josh Justus Jr., Larry Gibson and David
Lester officiating with burial to follow in the Fred Blankenship Cemetery on
Guesses Fork, near Hurley, VA.
Friends may call at the
Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church on Guesses Fork, near Hurley, VA,
Saturday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Saturday and Sunday evenings at
7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will
be J. Brian Justice, Reed Justice, Marty Justice, Robby Shortridge, Scotty
Musick, Greg Musick, David Blankenship and Rodrick Owens.
Honorary Pallbearers
will be Dr. H. Patel, Dr. D. Patel, Steven Justice, Shane Justice, Doug Coleman,
Roger McCoy and Lester McCoy.
