STELLA MARIE HURLEY MURPHY, 80 years of age of Grundy, VA, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Peyton and Mary Blankenship Hurley. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, VA and life member of the Old Pentecostal Church in Stopover, KY. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and inspirational friend to many.

She is survived by 7-Daughters:   Tina and husband Chris Bostic, Rowe, VA, Darcy and husband Jack Branson, Richlands, VA, Glenda and husband Edward Daley, Clayton, NC, Debbie and husband Scott Paulette, Appomattox, VA, Brenda and husband Danny Ray Baker, Grundy, VA, Linda and husband R.D. Rife, Grundy, VA, Janice Justus, Martinsburg, WVA, 4-Sons: William Murphy, Castlewood, VA, Clifford Murphy, Roanoke, VA, James Murphy, Castlewood, VA, Hayes and wife Liao Juan Murphy, St. Petersburg, Fl

Also, survived by 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2-Daughters: Mary Lou Milliron and Dorcie Murphy, 3-Sisters: Virginia Watson, Tennessee Yates, and Clara Kirby, and 4-Brothers: Clifford, Bill, Wheeler, and Peyton Hurley, Jr. 1-Granddaughter: Kristy Marie Milliron.

Funeral Services for STELLA MARIE HURLEY MURPHY will be conducted Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Benny Freeman with burial to follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Jack Branson, Chris Bostic, Edward Daley, Scott Paulette, Danny Ray Baker, and R.D. Rife.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brayden Adkins, Shirley Gibson, Sue Blankenship, Bill and Geraldine Nichols, Rufus Baker, Andy Collins Pat Garland, Pat Justus, Virginia Steele, Virginia Hardin, Donna Mounts, Dr. T. Tedla, Dr. Snyder, Dr. Sellers, Dr. Jun, and the nursing staff in ICU at the Johnson City Medical Center.
