STELLA VIRGINIA CASTLE FLETCHER FREEMAN, of the Watkins Branch section of Grundy, VA, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home following a courageous battle with Cancer. Born in Wise County, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Nathan and Pearley Catherine Cooper Castle. She was a resident of Buchanan County for over 70-years and was a member of the Grundy Baptist Church for over 50-years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Grundy Hospital. Stella was 1 of 11 children, was the first to graduate from high school and also worked as a bookkeeper.

Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Fletcher, June 16, 1973, and survived by her second husband, Wayne Freeman, Grundy, VA.

She is survived by 1-Daughter: Carolyn and husband Joe Rudzinski, Wytheville, VA, 1-Step-Daughter: Janet Lynn Freeman, Cheyenne, WY, 2-Sons: Terry Lee and wife Judy Fletcher, Richlands, VA, William David and wife Debra Fletcher, Blacksburg, VA, 2-Step-Sons: Robert James and wife Pat Freeman, Richlands, VA, James Wayne and wife Ann Freeman, Denver, CO, 1-Sister: Loretta and husband Harold Stiltner, Abingdon, VA, 1-Brother: Harold Gene Castle, Lebanon, VA

Also, survived by 8-Grandchildren: Shea Cook, Matthew Cook, Eric Fletcher, Jennifer Johnson, Ben Fletcher, Beth Rash, Carey Hutchins and Catherine Sledd; 3-Step-Grandchildren: Victor Freeman, Janet Freeman and Mallory Freeman; and 12-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 1-Son: Larry Allen Fletcher; 3-Sisters: Minnie Milgrim, Louise Edmonds and Gladys Fletcher; and 4-Brothers: Charlie Castle, Henry Castle, Albert Castle and William Castle.

Funeral Services for STELLA VIRGINIA CASTLE FLETCHER FREEMAN will be conducted Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Baptist Church with Rev. Don Tittle officiating with burial to follow in the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery, Richlands, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Deacons of the Grundy Baptist Church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Grundy Baptist Church and Staff of Legacy Hospice Inc.
