TERRI LYNN McCLANAHAN PROFFITT, 46 years of age of the Home Creek Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at her home. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Ira Hassell and Ruby Dillion McClanahan. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a 1983 Graduate of Grundy High School and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, was a former employee of the Tracks End Restaurant, Wanda’s Steakhouse and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Proffitt is survived by her husband of 27-years, Roger Lee Proffitt, Grundy, VA, 1-Son: Joseph Lee Proffitt, Grundy, VA, 1-Sister: Shelia Ann and husband Dale Robin McGlothlin, Vansant, VA, 1-Brother: Hassell Lee (Tobe) McClanahan, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by 1-Sister: Brenda Sue McClanahan, Maternal Grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Sam Dillon and Paternal Grandparents: Wiley and Cora McClanahan.

Funeral Services for TERRI LYNN McCLANAHAN PROFFITT will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry David Ratliff officiating with burial to follow in the Rowe Mountain Cemetery, Lower Big Branch on Dismal, near Oakwood, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Timmy Proffitt, Josh Proffitt, John Proffitt, Sherman Fuller, Kenny Compton, Dale Robin McGlothlin, Robin Kyle McGlothlin, Tyler McGlothlin and Joshua Bruce McClanahan.
