THOMAS BLAKE LEE 76 years of age of the Elkins Branch section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away Saturday August 21, 2010 at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Tom and Maude Chambers Lee.  He was a member of the Grundy Church of Christ for 44 years and served as a Deacon for several years and a Bus Driver.  He was an Auto Mechanic and Auto Body Repair worker for 45 years.  He was a good father and husband, was a skilled mechanic and woodworker.  He had many friends and he loved and cherished them all.  He was Baptized into the Lord’s Church in April 1966. 

Mr. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joann Childress Lee of Grundy, VA, Three Sons: Freddy and his wife Vicki Lee, Bedford, VA, Rodney and his wife Kitty Lee, Grundy, VA, Timmy Lee, Grundy, VA, One Daughter in Law: Shirley Lee, Grundy, VA, One Brother: James “Pete” and his wife Judy Lee, Scottsdale, AZ, Four grandchildren: Jessica and her husband Dathan Vanover, Grundy, VA, Trista and her husband Dr. Pranav Shah, Pittsburgh, PA, Aaron and his wife Jerrica Lee, Louisville, KY, Taylor Lee, Grundy, VA, Two Great Grandsons: Kaden Vanover, Grundy, VA, Nikhil Shah, Pittsburgh, PA

He was preceded in death by three sons – Michael Lee on March 15, 1952, Randy Lee on April 5, 1965 and Ricky Lee on February 6, 2007; one sister – Mary Rowlette and one Brother in Law – Hubert Rowlette.

Funeral services for THOMAS BLAKE LEE will be conducted Tuesday , August 24, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Church of Christ with Evgs. Dennis Wimmer, Tom Cooper, William Neeley and Rev. John Stapleton officiating with burial to follow in the Compton Cemetery on Elkins Branch near Grundy, Va.

Friends may call at the Grundy Church of Christ after 6:00 P.M. Monday with an evening service at 7:00 P.M.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Looney, Buford Yates, Clayton Stacy Charles Ratliff, Jay Rife, Dr. Clint Sutherland, Danny Belcher, Sandy Boyd and Elders and Deacons of the Grundy Church of Christ.

A message to his caretaker, Sandy Boyd for wonderful love and care we adopted her in to our families.  We want to thank you from the bottom of our heart.  Blake loved you and so does the family.  May God bless and keep you.  The Lee Family.  And to all our friends, sisters and brothers in Christ our gratitude and love will be for always.
