THOMAS DAVID MCDONALD, JR., 49 years of age of Grundy, Virginia passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at his father’s home.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Dr. Thomas David Sr. and Virginia Belle Smallwood McDonald  He was a graduate of Grundy Senior High School, was a graduate of Roanoke College and graduated from University of Mississippi with his Juris Doctor.  He was a former employee of the Patent Office in Washington, D.C.  He attended the Grundy Methodist Church and was an Eagle Scout. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Thomas David and Virginia Belle Smallwood McDonald, Sr., one sister Virginia Ann McDonald on February 2, 1969, and two uncles and one aunt – Furman Leon and his wife Faye McDonald Jr., and Thomas Allen McDonald.

He is survived one sister – Mary Ellen McDonald and her husband Drew Harmon of Roanoke, Virginia.

He is survived by one niece – Ellen Harmon and Two nephews – Andrew and Daniel Harmon. He is also survived by ten cousins and one aunt – Jeanette McDonald Hatcher of Roanoke, VA.

Funeral services for Thomas David Mc Donald Jr. will be conducted Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Upchurch officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2010.
