TIMMY ALLEN GRIFFEY, 50 years of age of Grundy, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 after an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Mary Cline Griffey of Grundy, Virginia and the late John Hassell Griffey.  He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, a security Guard for United Coal Company and a General Outside Mechanic for Wellmore Coal Co. at Paw Paw, VA

In addition to his mother, Mary C, Griffey, Mr. Griffey is survived by his wife, Rosa Marie Hurley Griffey, Grundy, VA, One daughter: Marinda and her husband Shawn Miller, Hurley, VA, One Son: Justin Scarberry, RT #1 Grundy, VA, Seven Sisters: Cherokee Justus, Rt. #1 Grundy, VA, Rose Mary and her husband Bobby Justus, Rt. #1 Grundy, VA, Lora and her husband David Blankenship, Hurley, VA, Lisa and her husband Darrell Rose, Bradshaw, WV, Tammy Keen, Patterson, VA, Michelle and her husband Billy Yates, Rt. #2 Grundy, VA, Amanda and her husband Greg Clevinger, Rt. #2, Grundy, VA, Three Brothers: Hassell T. Griffey, Grundy, VA, Donald Griffey, Grundy, VA, John Shannon and his wife Aranda Griffey, Grundy, VA

He is also survived by 2 Grandchildren – Kirara Miller and Kylie Miller

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for TIMMY ALLEN GRIFFEY will be conducted Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Larry Ratliff, Jr., Minister Rick Ellis and Evg. Clyde George officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M Monday evening with services Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active pallbearers will be Shawn Miller, Derek Hurley, Chris Hurley, Billy Yates, Kyler Yates, Michael Justus, Donald Lee Griffith, Eric Hackney and Russell Owens.
