TIMOTHY DALE BLANKENSHIP, 40 years of age of the Knox Creek Section of Hurley, VA, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Kathy Matney Blankenship, Hurley, VA, and the late Roger Blankenship. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Blankenship graduated from Hurley High School Class of 1987 where he enjoyed playing many sports and attended the Buchanan County Career and Technology Center. He was a Coal Miner and loved fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father: Roger Blankenship, April 4, 2005, his Maternal Grandparents: Daniel and Lula Matney and Paternal Grandparents: Nickaodemus and Virginia Blankenship.

Mr. Blankenship is survived by his mother: Kathy Matney Blankenship, Hurley, VA, his girlfriend: Sandy Blankenship, Hurley, VA, 1-Daughter: Ashley Nicole and husband John Hurley, Hurley, VA, 3-Sons: Timmy Blankenship, Hurley, VA, Gary Blankenship, Hurley, VA, Daniel Blankenship, Hurley, VA

Also, survived by 1-Granddaughter: Karissa Hurley, and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Funeral Services for TIMOTHY DALE BLANKENSHIP will be conducted Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Rife officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
