VERALINE DALES LOONEY, 84 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Clarsie Looney Dales. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and attended the House of Prayer at Garden Creek, Oakwood, VA and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a former employee of Ammar Brothers, Vansant Super Market and the Magic Mart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy S. Looney.

She is survived by 3-Daughters: Vickie and husband Estel Crouse, Grundy, VA, Dottie Tweed, Vansant, VA, Becky Vandyke, Vansant, VA, 2-Sons: Dickey and wife Kathy Looney, Oakwood, VA, Sam Looney, Vansant, VA, 2-Sisters:Rachel Compton, Grundy, VA, Ruby and husband Paul Kennedy, Paynesville, WV

Also, survived by 9-Grandchildren: Renal Matney, Cindy Justus, Chris Looney, Talitha Oden, Lacreisha Nunery, Keisha Dupree, Sharon Wimmer, Samantha Charles and Anthony Looney; 19-Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1-Great-Grandson: timothy Lee Charles, II; 2-Sisters: Juanita Stacy and Ercie Dales; 3-Brothers: Victor, Homer and Clinton Dales; 3-Sisters-in-Law: Dovie Dales, Gladie Dales and Virgie Gay Dales; 2-Brothers-in-Law: Radford Stacy and Paul Compton.

Funeral Services for VERALINE DALES LOONEY will be conducted Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Chapman, Luther Bowman and Pim Griffey officiating with burial to follow in the Looney Cemetery on top of Bull Mountain near Harman, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Sunday and Monday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nunery, Jeff Justus, Jeff Wimmer, Gene Oden and Ralph Looney.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Looney, Chris Looney and Anthony Looney.
