
VIRGINIA FERN
STILTNER FARMER, 90
years of age of the Lynn Camp section of Grundy, VA, went to be with the Lord
Saturday, August 14, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Born in Buchanan County,
she was the daughter of the late Miles and Sarah Jane Fields Stiltner. She was
the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Farmer was a loving
mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the
eldest member of Poplar Creek Church of Christ where she had been a member for
39 years and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Mrs. Farmer was
preceded in death by her husband Elmer Farmer Jan 19, 1993.
She is survived
by 2-Daughters: Rita Moore, Lebanon, VA, Bobbie Carter, Grundy, VA, 2-Sons: Jay
and wife Ponzella Stiltner, Grundy, VA, Jerry and wife Brenda Warner, Lebanon,
VA
She is also
survived by nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great-great
grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by 2-sisters: Elizabeth Farmer and Callie Spencer, 6-brothers: Oscar,
Lawson, Lilbrium, Marvin, Riddle and Arnold Stiltner.
Funeral Services
for VIRGINIA FERN STILTNER FARMER will be conducted Wednesday, August 18,
2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Poplar Creek Church of Christ, Grundy, VA with Evgs.
Raffael Farrow, Mike Rife and Rick Stiltner officiating with burial following in
Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
She will be taken
to the Poplar Creek Church of Christ Grundy, VA on Monday evening and 6:00 P.M.,
August 16, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. with services Monday and Tuesday evening at 7:00
P.M.
Active
Pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of the Poplar Creek Church of Christ.
The family would
like to give a special thanks to her care giver, Becky Matney, Pricey Fuller,
Dr. Clint Sutherland, and The Total Home Hospice Nurses.
