WAYNE
TESTER,
89 years of age of Huddleston, VA, formerly of
Hurley, VA, went to be with the Lord on May, 26, 2011 at the Virginia
Veterans Care Center, Roanoke, VA, following an extended illness. Born in
Buchanan County, he was the son of the late William “Bill” and Ganie Smith
Tester. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life prior to
moving to Huddleston, VA, and was a member of the Bethany Bible Church.
Wayne served in the United States Navy
during World War II where he attained the rank of Seaman Second Class. He
was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather and worked
as a carpenter, building many homes in Buchanan County. Wayne was the last
surviving member of his immediate family.
Those left to
cherish his memory include his wife of 72-Years: Edna Dotson Tester,
Huddleston, VA, 1-Daughter: Betty and husband John Russell Dotson,
Huddleston, VA, 2-Sons: Jimmy and wife Shelvie Tester, Moneta, VA, Danny and
wife Tammy Tester, Roanoke, VA
Also, survived by
6-Grandchildren: Johnny and wife Tiny Dotson, Mark and wife Taiwana Dotson,
Jeff and wife Setema Tester, Lisa and husband Tim Waller, Brad and wife
Marcie Tester, Amy and husband Tony Wolford; 14-Great-Grandchildren and
several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded
in death by 1-Sister and 6-Brothers.
Funeral Services for
WAYNE TESTER will be conducted
Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with
Pastor Paul Rife officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley
Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call
at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 6:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
Full Military
Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Members of Childs Gentry Post No.
7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
