WENDELL WILKIE (MULE) HARRISON, 68 years of age of Lebanon, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Luther and Bessie Breeding Harrison and was the youngest of 12-children. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life and attended the Word of Victory Fellowship Church, Lebanon, VA. Mr. Harrison was a sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 25th Infantry Brigade out of Hawaii. He was a loving father, son and was a retired truck driver for Buchanan Oil, Grundy, VA.

Mr. Harrison is survived by 2-Daughters:   Michelle and husband James Bunting, Nashville, TN, Wendy and husband Kevin Waugh, Lebanon, VA, Fiancé: Shirley Ball, Lebanon, VA, 3-Sisters: Mary Ann Seibernaler, Bryan, OH, Rusty Wade Harrison, Baltimore, MD, Leona Evans, Florida, 1-Brother: Luther Harrison, Jr., Big Rock, VA

Also, survived by 11-Grandchildren: Brandon Harrison, Zantara Harrison, Hank Max Harrison, Dylan Waugh, Jamie Lynn Bunting, Brooke Bunting, Jacob, Alexis, Aiden, Lucas and Morgan.

He was preceded in death by 1-Sister: Millie, 4-Brothers: Buster, Jim, Guy and Samuel and 2-Infant Siblings.

Funeral Services for  WENDELL WILKIE (MULE) HARRISON will be conducted Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rod Wicker officiating with burial to follow in Mudlick Cemetery, Harman, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening from 6-9:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Harrison, Kevin Waugh, James Bunting, Dylan Waugh, Heath Harrison, Tony Harrison, Travis Peck and Nick Stiltner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nephews and Employees of Buchanan Oil.

The Family wishes to express thanks to Dr. Big John Bertuso, Dr. J. Herman and the Staff of Cardio-Vascular Associates, and special thanks to Staff of W-3 and the Holston Valley Medical Center.

Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by members of John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion.
