WILLIE
STILTNER,
80 years of age of the Harman section of Grundy,
Virginia, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Buchanan General
Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of
the late Jimmy and Mary Hess Stiltner.
He was a member of the new Zion Freewill
Baptist Church a retired coal miner having worked for the Harman Mining
Corporation, a member of the United Mine Workers of America and a member of
Local Union #7025 of the UMWA.
He is survived by two sons: Amos Stiltner, West
Liberty, KY, Mark and his wife Sandra Stiltner, Maxie, VA, One Daughter:
Cindy and her husband Alan Howard, Bristol, TN, Two Brothers: Buster
Stiltner, Grundy,
VA, Walter Stiltner, Missouri, One Sister:
Madie Mullins, Missouri
Three
great-grandchildren – Austin Howard, Emily Howard and Paige Stiltner.
He was preceded
in death by his wife Betty Lou Stiltner in 2000; Five sisters – Fern
Stiltner, Canzada Stiltner, Bessie Deel Hurley, Ollie Stiltner and Lona
Stiltner; Three brothers – Carl Stiltner, Leck Stiltner and Lawrence
Stiltner; Two grandchildren – Christopher Stiltner and Karen Harrison and
one daughter – Betty Joe Stiltner.
Funeral services for
WILLIE STILTNER will be
conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the New Zion Freewill Baptist Church, Big
Rock, Virginia with Rev. E. C. Honaker and Rev. Jimmy Kerr officiating with
burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after
6:00 P.M. Monday with services at 7:00 P.M.
Mr. Stiltner will be moved to the New Zion
Freewill Baptist Church Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. to await the funeral
hour at 11:00 a.m.
