WOODROW
LESTER,
64 years of
age of the Weller Yard Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010
at his home, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the
son of the late Kennis and Pearlie Lester Lester. He was a lifelong resident of
Buchanan County, was a disabled coal miner, and a member of the Holiness Church.
Mr. Lester was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

survived by his wife Janice Coleman Lester of Grundy, VA;
1-Daughter: Katessia Renee Lester, Grundy, VA; 1-Grandson: Brady Keith Charles,
Grundy, VA; 2-Sisters: Hester and husband Dan Don Looney, Lynn Camp, Grundy,
VA; Ada Keen, Grundy, VA; 2-Brothers: Roscoe and wife Onia Lester, Big Rock, VA;
Lonzo and wife Ruth Lester, Grundy, VA; 1-Half Brother: Monroe and wife Ermal
Lester, Hurley, VA; 1-Sister-in-Law: Retha Lester, Hurley, VA. Also, survived
by several Nieces and Nephews.
He was
preceded in death by 3-Sisters: Arminta Lester, Ellen Scarberry, Lakie
Lester, and 1-Brother: Clyde Lester; 1-Half-Brother: Willie Lester..
Funeral
Services for WOODROW LESTER will be conducted Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at
1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Darrell Davis, Danny
Hess, and John Justus officiating with burial following in Mountain Valley
Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may
call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services
Sunday and Monday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
Active
Pallbearers will be Gregory Mullins, Billy Peck, Danny Charles, Danny Whitt,
Darnell Lester, Shannon Lester, Brandon Lester, and Kennith Dena Coleman.
Honorary
Pallbearers will be Justin Cook, Dr. Mario Stefanini, Roy Lee Coleman, Paul
Elswick, Todd Elswick, and Bill Mullins.
Full Military
Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Members of Childs Gentry Post # 7360
of the Veterans of Foreign War.
